🏰Domaine Trapet's 2005 Chapelle-Chambertin Grand Cru is a highly acclaimed expression from a legendary Burgundy vintage, offering a profound balance of elegance and power. Expect an intricate and perfumed nose with layers of red cherries, wild strawberries, and raspberries, beautifully complemented by floral notes of rose petals and violets. Subtle hints of cinnamon, clove, forest floor, and smoky minerality add complexity. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied with a velvety texture, supported by fine-grained tannins and vibrant acidity, leading to a long, elegant finish with a whisper of spice and graphite.
🍴 This Grand Cru pairs beautifully with roasted game, such as venison loin with mushrooms, pan-seared duck breast with a cherry sauce, or beef tenderloin. It also complements dishes featuring truffles or rich mushroom sauces, and aged cheeses like Époisses or Comté.
🥂 Perfect for milestone celebrations, intimate gourmet dinners, or as a prestigious gift for a discerning Burgundy collector. Its aging potential makes it a superb choice for cellaring and enjoying over the next 15-20 years.
BACKGROUND
Domaine Trapet is a wine company comprised of two estates, one in Alsace, the other in Burgundy. The company in its current dual-region configuration formed when Andrée Trapet inherited her parents' vineyards in Alsace in 2002. Her husband Jean-Louis has run Domaine Trapet Père et Fils in Gevrey-Chambertin since 1990, when he took over from his father Jean.
