🏰 A highly anticipated 2024 Richebourg Grand Cru from Méo-Camuzet, this future vintage is already showing exquisite concentration and complexity from barrel tastings, promising a "sexy" and long-aging expression of this legendary Burgundy terroir. While 2024 is noted as a "difficult year" for Burgundy, with some wines having a "somewhat austere side", Méo-Camuzet's Richebourg is expected to be a classic, ripe year with gradual aging potential. Barrel tastings reveal an exquisite nose displaying 【perfectly ripe black fruit, concentrated blackberry, black cherry, liquid smoke, sesame, Vosne spice, rose, sweet spices, and limestone】. The palate is anticipated to offer excellent concentration, layers of pure black fruit, a silky and airy texture, perfect acidity, fine minerality, and a long, pure black fruit-driven finish.
🍴 This powerful red Pinot Noir is an ideal pairing for duck, goose, and other game birds. Its richness and complexity will also complement roasted red meats and truffle dishes.
🥂 This is a wine for serious collectors, requiring significant cellaring to reach its full potential. As a future vintage, it represents a prime investment for those looking to acquire a top-tier Grand Cru Burgundy that will evolve beautifully over decades.
BACKGROUND
Domaine Meo-Camuzet is located in the village of Vosne-Romanee, France. The estate employs organic fertilizers and advanced cultivation techniques to maintain ecological balance in the vineyards. Coupled with the exceptional terroir and the legacy of Henri Jayer, Jean-Nicholas' efforts have elevated the estate to a top-tier winery in just a few decades. In 2003, Jean-Nicholas founded the négociant business Méo-Camuzet Frères et Soeurs. Although the grapes are purchased, the team personally supervises the vineyards to ensure the quality of the grape sources.
