E.guigal, Cote Rotie Brune Et Blonde, 1997
Red
750ml
Label : Very Slightly Stained Label
Level : Neck Level
🏰E. Guigal's Cote Rotie Brune et Blonde is a classic expression of Northern Rhone Syrah, and the 1997 vintage, while not a blockbuster year, produced wines of charm and elegance. This 1997 Cote Rotie is expected to offer 【evolved aromas of red and black fruits, violets, smoked bacon, and a hint of olive, with a silky texture and fine-grained tannins】 that are now beautifully integrated. It's a wine that showcases the finesse that Cote Rotie can achieve with age.
🍴This elegant Cote Rotie pairs wonderfully with roasted lamb, duck breast with cherry sauce, game birds, and dishes featuring mushrooms or truffles. It also complements mature, savory cheeses.
🥂Ideal for a special dinner, a gathering of Rhone wine enthusiasts, or as a thoughtful gift for someone who appreciates mature Syrah. Decanting for a short period can help it open up.
BACKGROUND
E Guigal is one of the most famous wine producers in the Rhône. The company was founded in 1946 by Etienne Guigal in Ampuis on the west bank of the Rhone, just a stone's throw from the famous sun-baked slopes of the Côte Rôtie. Guigard's flagship wines are the famous "LaLa": La Landonne, La Mouline and La Turque. La Landonne is 100% Syrah, from 40-year-old vines and aged in oak barrels for a similar amount of time.
