Gerard Mugneret, Vosne Romanee Les Suchots 1er Cru, 2003
🏰 Gerard Mugneret Vosne-Romanée Les Suchots 1er Cru 2003 is a powerful and concentrated Burgundy red wine from the exceptionally hot 2003 vintage, offering 【a unique and opulent expression of Vosne-Romanée's elegance】. Despite the warmth, top producers crafted wines with surprising balance. Expect ripe red and black fruits, often with a confit or jammy character, alongside notes of spice, earth, and hints of game or leather developing with age. The palate is likely full-bodied, with soft, ripe tannins and a rich, opulent experience.
🍴 This intense Burgundy red wine is best paired with richer dishes like roasted duck, venison, hearty mushroom risotto, or strong, aged cheeses.
🥂 A fascinating wine for a tasting focused on challenging vintages, a hearty dinner with friends, or for those who appreciate a more opulent style of Burgundy. This mature vintage is likely at its peak or entering a graceful decline. Decant for 30-60 minutes to allow it to open up and shed any potential sediment. Serve at cellar temperature, around 16-18°C (60-64°F).
