🏰 The 2024 Claude Dugat Gevrey Chambertin 1er Cru is a 【highly anticipated future vintage from a revered Burgundy producer】. As 2024 is a future vintage, specific tasting notes and vintage reports are not yet available. However, Claude Dugat is renowned for crafting concentrated, age-worthy Pinot Noirs from Gevrey-Chambertin, an appellation celebrated for its powerful and structured 1er Cru wines. Expect a wine with a deep ruby color, promising aromas of dark berries, forest floor, and a hint of spice, built for long-term cellaring.
🍴 While specific pairings for the 2024 are premature, Claude Dugat's Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru typically excels with roasted game (venison, wild boar), rich beef dishes like steak frites or prime rib, mushroom risotto, and strong, aged cheeses.
🥂 This is a speculative purchase for future enjoyment, an excellent gift for a serious Burgundy enthusiast to cellar, or a valuable addition to a collection focused on the potential of young, high-quality wines. It is not ready for drinking upon release and requires significant cellaring.
BACKGROUND
Domaine Claude Dugat is a Burgundian producer in the Gevrey-Chambertin appellation. This prestigious small winery produces only a small amount of Pinot Noir wine, with its most popular wines coming from designated Grand Crus. The domaine was founded by Claude's father in 1955, when he purchased a 13th-century building and converted it into a winery and cellar. Dugat bottles three Grand Cru red wines from Griotte-Chambertin, Chapelle-Chambertin and Charmes-Chambertin, as well as two Premier Cru wines.
