🏰 Fèlsina is a highly acclaimed Tuscan estate, having won the coveted Tre Bicchieri (Three Glasses) award 17 times in Gambero Rosso, Italy's renowned wine guide. The 2013 Maestro Raro Cabernet Sauvignon is described as a vivid, stunningly beautiful wine that speaks with a thick Tuscan accent. It's a powerful and intense Tuscan Cabernet Sauvignon, showcasing the best of Tuscany and the grape. 【Consistently awarded Tre Bicchieri by Gambero Rosso】. This wine presents a deep red hue with shades of purple and violet. The nose offers somewhat restrained but finely drawn notes of blackberries and plums, along with tobacco, leather, licorice, and dark plum. On the palate, it is consistent, warm, and harmonious, with huge, imposing tannins that scream out of the glass. Expect lively black spice notes, fresh tobacco, dried herbs, and a stunning level of fullness and complexity with softly layered, fine tannins that caress the palate.
🍴 This bold and structured red wine is an excellent companion to a peppered beef stew, rich meat dishes, and aged cheeses.
🥂 Patience is a must for this wine, as it will be even better with a few years of age. It's ideal for a serious wine tasting, a celebratory dinner, or as a long-term cellar investment.
BACKGROUND
Felsina is a historic and highly acclaimed estate located in the southern part of the Chianti Classico region in Tuscany. While famous for its Sangiovese, Felsina also produces 'Maestro Raro', a 100% Cabernet Sauvignon. First produced in 1987, this Super Tuscan showcases the adaptability of Cabernet to the Tuscan terroir, offering rich dark fruit, tobacco, and spice notes, supported by firm tannins and excellent aging potential.
