🏰 The 2004 Lisini Brunello di Montalcino Ugolaia is a magnificent red from one of Montalcino's historic properties, celebrated for its 【remarkable depth and perfumed fruit】. The Ugolaia is a single vineyard wine from a small old-vine parcel, first produced in 1990, known for its elegance and smooth tannins. The 2004 vintage received high praise, including 94 points from Robert Parker. Deceptively medium in body, it offers sweet pine, menthol, red cherries, and spices that meld seamlessly on a long finish. With time, it gains volume and an expansive bouquet, revealing notes of hazelnut, strawberry pie, and a hint of coffee.
🍴 This mature Brunello is an ideal partner for hearty Italian cuisine. Pair it with braised meats, beef stew, or a perfectly grilled steak. It also complements aged hard cheeses beautifully.
🥂 A truly special wine for a milestone celebration, a significant anniversary, or a profound tasting experience with fellow Italian wine enthusiasts. It is drinking beautifully now but has the structure to continue evolving.
Serving Suggestion: For this 2004 vintage, decanting for 1-2 hours is highly recommended to allow the wine to fully express its complex aromas and soften any remaining tannins. Serve at 18-20°C (64-68°F). As an older wine, handle with care and be mindful of the cork's condition.
