🏰 The 2014 Chateauneuf du Pape vintage was a "vintner's vintage," where meticulous vineyard work was key to success. This Rayas Pignan Chateauneuf du Pape 2014 offers 【forward, soft, supple, and elegant textures】, showcasing good purity of fruit, sweetness, and a spicy personality. The red wines from this vintage are generally medium to full-bodied, concentrated, with great acidity, brilliant depth, and a velvety texture. It's a charming, early-drinking wine, perfect for enjoying in the near term.
🍴 This expressive Rhone red pairs beautifully with grilled lamb, hearty Mediterranean stews, roasted game birds, or even a rich pasta dish with a robust tomato sauce. For an Eastern touch, try it with slow-cooked lamb tagine or a flavorful char siu.
🥂 Ideal for a relaxed dinner party with friends, a summer barbecue, or any occasion where an approachable yet complex red wine is desired.
BACKGROUND
Château Rayas is a leading producer in the Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation of the Rhône Valley, France. It is one of the region's most prestigious estates, and its wines fetch some of the highest prices in southern France. The estate covers 22 hectares, with 15 hectares dedicated to vineyards. Most of their vines are planted to Grenache. The estate's red wine is made solely from Grenache. The château's white Châteauneuf-du-Pape is generally made from Grenache Blanc and Clairette in roughly equaly proportions. Château Rayas has been in the Reynaud family since the 1880s.
