🏰 Hudelot Noellat's Richebourg Grand Cru 1994 is a **【sumptuous wine with power and stamina, embodying the silky character of its neighbor Romanée-Conti and the firmness of La Tâche】**. This red Burgundy offers a complex bouquet with hints of meat, earth, cherry, dried strawberry, mushroom, plum, and smoke. The palate is full-bodied with impressive structure, well-integrated tannins, and flavors of toasted bread, grilled meat, blackberry, and black cherry, leading to a pure, intense finish.
🍴 This noble Pinot Noir pairs exquisitely with classic game birds like duck and goose. It also complements rich meat dishes such as venison burgers, deer ribs, coffee-crusted beef tenderloin steak, or even creamy chicken enchiladas, offering a luxurious dining experience.
🥂 This is a wine for a truly special occasion, a contemplative evening, or a serious wine tasting where its decades of evolution can be appreciated. It's a wine to be savored and discussed.
For a 1994 Richebourg, expect some bottle variation and potential sediment. Decanting for 1-2 hours is recommended to allow the wine to open up and separate from any sediment. Serve at 15-18°C (59-64°F). The cork and capsule should be handled with care due to its age.
BACKGROUND
Domaine Hudelot-Noëllat primarily cultivates Pinot Noir. The estate was founded in 1960 and is located in the village of Clos Vougeot. The original owner, Alain, married the granddaughter of the renowned Charles Noëllat from Vosne-Romanée, bringing with her several valuable vineyard plots as dowry. The vineyards are primarily located in Vosne-Romanée, Chambolle-Musigny, and Nuits-St-Georges, covering a total of 6.6 hectares. The estate is currently managed by Charles Van Canneyt. In 2005, winemaker Vincent Munier joined the team.
