🏰Lingua Franca's Tongue 'n Cheek Pinot Noir 2021 is a 【vibrant and complex expression from Oregon's highly regarded Willamette Valley, founded by legendary Master Sommelier Larry Stone】. The 2021 vintage in Oregon saw a challenging heat dome event in June, but the resilience of non-irrigated soils and excellent, moderately cool harvest conditions resulted in fruit in perfect balance. This intense ruby-purple Pinot Noir, made from 100% destemmed fruit, offers a nose of volcanic soil accents, red currants, tobacco leaf, white truffle shavings, strawberry and raspberry preserves, aniseed, and rooibos tea. The palate is well-structured and tension-filled, bursting with generous, crunchy red fruit flavors like black currant, black cherry, plums in syrup, and dark cherry, supported by velvety tannins and mouthwatering acidity, leading to a long, latent finish.
🍴This elegant Pinot Noir pairs exceptionally well with roasted wild poultry such as pheasant, duck, or partridge. It's also a fantastic match for pigeon breast wrapped in Alsace bacon with a red wine jus, Iberico Secreto from the grill, or for vegetarians, tofu and Chinese mushroom rice.
🥂Sensational to enjoy right now, this beautifully textured wine will cellar well, with a drinking window extending to 2036-2037. It benefits from a little air on opening. Serve at 16°C (61°F) in Pinot Noir glasses.
