🏰 The Mambourg Grand Cru hillside in Alsace is renowned for its early ripening and optimal sunshine, thanks to its south-facing exposure and calcimagnesian soil over limestone conglomerates. Marcel Deiss is celebrated for his biodynamic viticulture and often employs field blends, though a Riesling expression from Mambourg is also produced. The 2019 Marcel Deiss Mambourg Grand Cru Riesling is described as a powerful and complex white wine. It typically presents a golden yellow color. On the nose, expect a deep and pure bouquet with ripe stone fruit aromas intertwined with iodine, crushed limestone, and orange blossoms, alongside beautiful intensity, freshness, and citrus notes. The palate is full-bodied, intense, and can show a surprising maturity with a focus on bitters rather than overt richness, yet it remains pure, refined, and salty with fine tannins. It offers a distinctive and fruity character, with a bouquet of great finesse and floral nuances like acacia flower. This wine is always perfectly dry, sometimes exhibiting exaggerated power and extreme complexity. 【Powerful and complex Grand Cru Riesling from the unique Mambourg terroir, known for its early ripening and limestone soils】.
🍴 This Grand Cru Riesling is a perfect accompaniment to noble fish prepared in various ways, shellfish, and Japanese cuisine such as sushi and sashimi. It would also complement rich poultry dishes or mature goat cheese.
🥂 Ideal for a sophisticated dinner, a tasting focused on Grand Cru Rieslings, or any occasion calling for a complex and powerful white wine that showcases the unique terroir of Alsace.
