FEATURES
🏰 Ramonet's Bourgogne Rouge 2023 comes from a Burgundy vintage that was overall the warmest on record, yet surprisingly wetter and less luminous than 2022, which helped preserve acidity. The growing season began coolly and ended in warmth, with a successful flowering for Pinot Noir leading to a generous crop. Despite a late August/early September heat spike that required careful grape selection, the vintage yielded fine-quality Pinot fruit with ample ripeness, good tannin levels, and a firm acid profile. These wines are described as "charming" and highly drinkable, offering early accessibility while some possess the tension for further maturity. 【Charming and accessible red Burgundy from a generous 2023 vintage】 🥂 This delightful Bourgogne Rouge is perfect for everyday enjoyment, casual dinners, or as a versatile house wine for entertaining. Its charming and accessible nature makes it suitable for a wide range of occasions. 🍴 It pairs wonderfully with roasted chicken, light pasta dishes, charcuterie, or mild cheeses. For Eastern cuisine, consider Cantonese roast goose, Japanese yakitori, or a delicate Korean bibimbap.
BACKGROUND
Domaine Ramonet is a prominent wine producer in the Burgundy appellations of Chassagne-Montrachet and Puligny-Montrachet, France. Ramonet owns more than 15 hectares (37 acres) of vineyards. The primary grape variety is Chardonnay, with a small amount of Pinot Noir also planted. The estate's most important wines are made from Chardonnay from the area's grand cru vineyards, and are highly collectible, often selling for high prices at auction. Domaine Ramonet makes several red wines from Pinot Noir as well. Domaine Ramonet is now run by Noël and Jean-Claude Ramonet, following the death of their father Pierre in the mid-1990s.
