FEATURES
🏰 Moulin Riche is a separate château with distinct plots owned and run by the Cuvelier family of Léoville Poyferré; it is not a second wine of Léoville Poyferré, but has its own second wine, M de Moulin Riche. The 2016 vintage is a blend of 63% Cabernet Sauvignon, 26% Merlot, and 11% Petit Verdot, from a terroir slightly more inland with more clay soils. It was aged 20 months in 25% new French oak. The 2016 Moulin Riche is described as absolutely gorgeous, fresh, vibrant, and full of energy.
The nose is ripe and full, with cassis, damsons, incense, touches of graphite, and sweet spice. The palate offers opulent fruit, soft, ripe, and succulent tannins, with layers of sweet spice and charred wood. It shows focus and precision with currant, dark-berry, and basil-leaf character. Other notes include black cherries, plums, vanilla, licorice, and light violet aromas. The finish is long, rounded, and ripe. 【 A gorgeous, fresh, vibrant, and energetic Saint-Julien with opulent fruit and succulent tannins, offering approachability now and aging potential 】
🍴 Best served with all types of classic meat dishes, including veal, pork, beef, lamb, duck, game, and roast chicken. It also pairs well with Asian dishes, hearty seafood, or richly textured fish like tuna, mushrooms, pasta, and cheese.
🥂 This wine can be enjoyed now, especially with food, but should drink well for over a decade. It's suitable for a fine dining experience, a special family meal, or as a gift for a Bordeaux enthusiast.
