🏰 The 2010 Domaine Denis Mortet Chambertin Grand Cru comes from a very promising vintage for Burgundy, known for producing wines with elegance and purity. This Chambertin is described as cooler and more elegant, with a classic Pinot nose of red berry fruit, earth, underbrush, humus, and stone. It saturates the palate with masses of dark fruit, licorice, tar, and graphite, showcasing both richness and transparency. Reviewers note its round, sappy, and very fine-grained texture, with tightly coiled flavors of red berries and lavender, offering a tangy lift and clarity. It's a deep, muscular wine with firm, fine-grained tannins and an explosively persistent finish, suggesting a bright future and requiring patience for optimal enjoyment. 【Powerful and elegant Grand Cru from a highly respected Burgundy estate】
🍴 This profound Grand Cru Burgundy is best paired with equally refined dishes. Consider roasted game birds like pheasant or partridge, beef bourguignon, truffle-based pasta, or rich mushroom dishes.
🥂 An exceptional choice for significant celebrations, a connoisseur's tasting, or as a cornerstone addition to a long-term cellar. Anticipated maturity is 2025-2045.
BACKGROUND
Domaine Denis Mortet is located in northern Burgundy and is famous for producing high-quality Pinot Noir wine. It is produced in a modern style and has a delicate taste. The domaine currently occupies 11.2 hectares (27 acres) and has also purchased part of the Le Chambertin Grand Cru vineyard. The winery was founded in 1956 when Charles Mortet purchased a hectare of vineyard and began selling fruit to merchants. Mortet's son Denis and his wife Laurence started working at the estate in 1978 and took over and established Domaine Denis Mortet in the early 1990s.
