Bouchard Pere & Fils, Bonnes Mares Grand Cru, 2005
🏰 The 2005 Bouchard Pere & Fils Bonnes Mares Grand Cru is a 【remarkably refined Burgundy with superb flesh and outstanding aging potential】. This vintage was produced in Bouchard's new, gravity-fed winemaking facility, contributing to its compelling sappiness and force.
👅 This wine displays a vibrant, see-through ruby color. The nose is incredible, melding blueberry, smoked meat, cola, minerals, and brown spices, with a refined bouquet of fruit and spices and a hint of oak. On the palate, it is silky and seamless, with outstanding volume and force, deep smoky, spicy dark fruits, and remarkably fine tannins. It possesses great inner-palate energy and a tactile whiplash of texture and flavor.
🍴 As a fine Pinot Noir, it pairs beautifully with roasted duck with a touch of spice, game birds, roasted lamb, or mushroom-based dishes. Its complexity also makes it a great match for richer poultry preparations or delicate beef dishes.
🥂 A wine with significant aging potential, perfect for cellaring and special occasions where a mature, complex Grand Cru Burgundy is desired.
