🏰 Domaine Ramonet's 2020 Chevalier-Montrachet Grand Cru is a 【pinnacle of Burgundy white wine production】, offering unparalleled complexity and longevity from an excellent vintage. Expect a lemon color with layered aromas of 【hawthorne flowers, orchard fruit, citrus, and brioche】, complemented by prominent mineral reduction scents, acacia blossom, carnation, exotic tea, and grated lemon zest. The palate is big-bodied and unctuous, brimming with minerality and dry extract, delivering stunningly good length on a bone-dry, moderately austere, and strikingly long finish. This wine displays raw power, almost like a red wine in white wine clothing, yet its pedigree shines through.
🍴 This exquisite white Burgundy pairs beautifully with luxurious dishes such as lobster thermidor, turbot with truffle sauce, aged Comté cheese, foie gras, or a caviar service. It also complements roasted chicken and turkey.
🥂 Perfect for a milestone celebration or a sophisticated tasting event, this Grand Cru is a 'buy and forget you own it' wine, destined to evolve gracefully for at least 10 to 15 years. Serve chilled at around 12-14°C to appreciate its intricate layers.
BACKGROUND
Domaine Ramonet is a prominent wine producer in the Burgundy appellations of Chassagne-Montrachet and Puligny-Montrachet, France. Ramonet owns more than 15 hectares (37 acres) of vineyards. The primary grape variety is Chardonnay, with a small amount of Pinot Noir also planted. The estate's most important wines are made from Chardonnay from the area's grand cru vineyards, and are highly collectible, often selling for high prices at auction. Domaine Ramonet makes several red wines from Pinot Noir as well. Domaine Ramonet is now run by Noël and Jean-Claude Ramonet, following the death of their father Pierre in the mid-1990s.
