🏰 The 2011 Jacques Frederic Mugnier Musigny Grand Cru is an 【indelible Burgundian jewel】 that masterfully responds to a whimsical vintage, showcasing finesse and complexity. The 2011 growing season in 布根地 was marked by early flowering and a relatively cool summer, prompting an attentive approach from vignerons. This Musigny parades an aromatic panoply blending ripe red cherries and blackberries with haunting whispers of violet and subtle earthiness—a hallmark of the Chambolle terroir. It offers a refined flavor profile with notes of dark cherry, raspberry, and subtle earthiness, complemented by well-integrated tannins and a lengthy finish. The luxurious texture, emblematic of Musigny, is counterpoised by just-enough acidity, giving a sonorous length to the finish.
🍴 This exquisite red pairs exceptionally well with rich dishes such as duck confit, lamb, or mushroom risotto, as well as other duck, goose, and game birds.
🥂 Ideal for a sophisticated gathering, a special anniversary, or for serious collectors looking to add a profound 布根地 jewel to their cellar.
Serving Suggestion: For this 15-year-old Grand Cru, careful handling is key. Stand the bottle upright for at least 24-48 hours before serving to allow any sediment to settle. Decanting is recommended to separate the wine from sediment and allow it to breathe, but do so gently and just before serving to preserve delicate aromas. Serve at cellar temperature (around 16-18°C). Be mindful of the cork, as older corks can be fragile; a Durand opener or an Ah-So might be useful.
