🏰 The 1995 Joseph Drouhin Gevrey Chambertin hails from a 【very good Burgundy vintage, particularly for Côte de Nuits reds, known for its concentrated grapes and excellent aging potential】. Joseph Drouhin, a producer committed to organic and biodynamic practices, crafted this wine with a beautiful, bright ruby color. On the nose, it's intensely fruity with black cherry, wild blackberry, and liquorice, evolving into complex notes of mild spice, nutmeg, leather, mushroom, and damp earth. The palate offers present yet non-astringent tannins, harmoniously blending with natural freshness and a velvety texture.
🍴 This mature 布根地紅酒是烤家禽、野味、蘑菇菜餚或溫和芝士的絕佳伴侶,其演變的風味能與這些菜餚相得益彰。
🥂 Ideal for enjoying a mature Burgundy, a thoughtful gift for a wine lover, or a quiet evening with a special meal.
Serving suggestion: This 1995 vintage is mature and will display complex tertiary aromas. While some bottles may show signs of age, the best examples are now blossoming. Handle the old cork and capsule with care. Optimal consumption is generally within 8-13 years, but some can age up to 15 years or more. Serve at 16°C (61-62°F). Decanting, if done, should be brief and gentle, primarily to remove sediment, and immediately before serving.
BACKGROUND
Joseph Drouhin is one of Burgundy's most important wine producers, France. The primary grape variety is Pinot Noir, with a small portion being Chardonnay. Founded in Beaune in 1880, the domaine has expanded throughout the 20th Century to include vineyards in Chablis, the Côte de Nuits, the Côte de Beaune and the Côte Chalonnaise, making everything from simple, village-level cuvées to highly priced grand cru and premier cru wines from Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.
