FEATURES
🏰The 1967 Burgundy vintage was challenging, with a good start followed by September rains and rot, leading to generally lighter wines. However, some white wines fared better than reds. This Francois Lamarche Vosne Romanee La Grande Rue 1967, a red Burgundy, would likely be a delicate wine, with potential for subtle, evolved aromas if well-preserved. Expect a wine that is more about finesse than power, showcasing the unique character of a mature, lighter vintage.
🍴Pair this delicate red Burgundy with classic French meals like roasted root vegetables, smoky grilled aubergine and zucchini, or lighter preparations of lamb or duck.
🥂Perfect for a contemplative evening, a special anniversary for those who appreciate the nuances of aged wines, or a quiet dinner with close friends. It's a chance to experience a piece of history.
Kindly note that for a wine of this age, cork and capsule condition can vary, and while the wine may offer a unique historical tasting experience, expectations should be set for an old-style wine.
BACKGROUND
François Lamarche is a historic winery located in the village of Vosne-Romanée, France. The primary grape variety is Pinot Noir. The winery was founded in the early 20th century by Henri Lamarche and his wife, Marie Grivelet, both of whom hailed from Burgundy and had extensive experience in wine production. In 2019, the current owner, Nicole Lamarche, officially renamed the winery to Domaine Nicole Lamarche, and from the 2018 vintage onwards, the wines no longer bear the name of the former owner, François Lamarche.
