FEATURES
🏰news | features + short tasting note IN ENGLISH From the highly acclaimed Domaine Ramonet, this 2001 Chevalier-Montrachet Grand Cru is a magnificent expression from a vineyard renowned for its full-bodied, harmonious Chardonnays. The 2001 vintage is hailed as a "truly magnificent wine and among the best I have ever tasted". Expect a wine with a 【splendid, golden-yellow color and a spectacular aromatic profile with varied scents of rose, slate, white fruit, wild mint, and a balsamic accent】. It offers beautifully expressive and strikingly complex aromas of acacia, honeysuckle, white flower, and intense minerality, leading to stunningly pure, focused flavors of unbelievable length. 🍴 Chinese Cantonese food pairing various types of suggestion east or west corresponding to wine cost IN ENGLISH Ideal with refined dishes and complex textures such as foie gras, lobster, or roasted sweetbreads served with a buttery and creamy sauce. Also pairs well with roast chicken, chicken pot pie, roast garlic turkey, or delicate shellfish and crab. 🥂 fit for event suggestion IN ENGLISH A truly special celebration, a milestone anniversary, or a connoisseur's tasting event where only the finest white Burgundy will do. Serving Suggestion: This 2001 Grand Cru white Burgundy is a mature and complex wine. Expect a delicate cork. Serve at 12-14°C (54-57°F). While it's still backward according to some notes, it's at a prime drinking window. Decanting is generally not recommended for older white Burgundies unless there's a specific concern about reduction, but allowing it to breathe in the glass for a while can be beneficial. Be mindful of the cork and capsule condition.
BACKGROUND
Domaine Ramonet is a prominent wine producer in the Burgundy appellations of Chassagne-Montrachet and Puligny-Montrachet, France. Ramonet owns more than 15 hectares (37 acres) of vineyards. The primary grape variety is Chardonnay, with a small amount of Pinot Noir also planted. The estate's most important wines are made from Chardonnay from the area's grand cru vineyards, and are highly collectible, often selling for high prices at auction. Domaine Ramonet makes several red wines from Pinot Noir as well. Domaine Ramonet is now run by Noël and Jean-Claude Ramonet, following the death of their father Pierre in the mid-1990s.
