🏰 The 2022 Ramonet Chassagne Montrachet Caillerets 1er Cru is a 【superb white Burgundy from a legendary producer, celebrated for its purity, intensity, and remarkable aging potential】. Ramonet is one of the most iconic estates in Chassagne-Montrachet, known for crafting Chardonnay that exquisitely expresses its terroir. While specific tasting notes for the 2022 vintage are still emerging, Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru wines are typically rich and complex, offering a beautiful balance of fruit, minerality, and acidity. Expect notes of white peach, lemon zest, hazelnut, and a distinctive stony minerality, with a long, powerful finish.
🍴 This magnificent white Burgundy pairs exquisitely with roasted lobster, pan-seared scallops with beurre blanc, rich poultry dishes, or aged Comté cheese. For an Eastern pairing, consider steamed garoupa with ginger and spring onion or a delicate Japanese tempura.
🥂 An exceptional wine for a grand celebration, a serious white Burgundy tasting, or as a prized addition to a world-class cellar.
BACKGROUND
Domaine Ramonet is a prominent wine producer in the Burgundy appellations of Chassagne-Montrachet and Puligny-Montrachet, France. Ramonet owns more than 15 hectares (37 acres) of vineyards. The primary grape variety is Chardonnay, with a small amount of Pinot Noir also planted. The estate's most important wines are made from Chardonnay from the area's grand cru vineyards, and are highly collectible, often selling for high prices at auction. Domaine Ramonet makes several red wines from Pinot Noir as well. Domaine Ramonet is now run by Noël and Jean-Claude Ramonet, following the death of their father Pierre in the mid-1990s.
