🏰 【An iconic dry Chenin Blanc from Stéphane Bernaudeau, a cult natural winemaker, renowned for its rare vigor, energy, incredible texture, and persistence, from century-old vines.】 Stéphane Bernaudeau is a natural winemaker, practicing organic and biodynamic farming in Anjou, Loire Valley. "Les Nourrissons" is his flagship cuvée, sourced from a 0.7-hectare parcel of Chenin Blanc planted in 1910 on schist and argilo-calcaire soils, purchased from legendary producer Eric Calcutt. [4, 13, 14, 35, 37] The vineyard also includes 3% of the Portuguese grape variety Verdelho, contributing unique iodine/saline notes. [13, 37] The wine is aged in older oak barrels. [13, 37] This dense wine offers rare vigor and energy, with deeply set fruit and an incredible texture and persistence. It is tense and racy, with crunchy bitters, a lifted texture, and notes of orchard fruits, thyme, and white pepper. Expect a pure and precise character, with aromas of honey, minerals, smoke, green apple, white peach, lemon, citrus, toasted bread, green herbs, and straw. [5, 13, 35, 37]
