Ostertag, Alsace Grand Cru Riesling Muenchberg, 2010
🏰 From the unique pink sandstone and volcanic soils of Alsace Grand Cru Muenchberg, Ostertag's 2010 Riesling is a brilliant expression from an excellent vintage, known for its crystalline fruit, zippy acidity, and remarkable aging potential. The wine is fresh and aromatic with crystalline fruit and zippy acidity, offering rich, ripe citrus and orchard fruit. It presents a discreet appley nose, perfectly ripe yet bracing and mineral, with grip, energy, and a fine, assertive finish. The 2010 Alsace vintage was generally excellent, despite an extremely cold winter and challenges during flowering, resulting in low yields that ensured great concentration. Many wines from this vintage are drinking superbly now, with the best having the capacity to cellar even further.
🍴 This elegant Riesling is ideal with fresh seafood, sushi, roasted chicken with herbs, traditional Alsatian tarte flambée, or mature goat cheese.
🥂 Perfect for a sophisticated summer gathering, a seafood dinner, or a focused tasting exploring the evolution of fine Riesling.
