🏰 The 1992 Ridge Monte Bello Cabernet Sauvignon is a legendary vintage, earning a perfect 100 points from William Kelley of Wine Advocate, solidifying its status as one of Ridge's true classics. 【This vintage is celebrated for its stunning vibrancy and youthful character even at over 25 years old, bursting with a classic bouquet of cassis, blackberries, black truffles, gravelly soil, and pencil shavings.】 The growing season saw late spring rains followed by mild weather, allowing for a full crop, which was then thinned for concentration. A perfect summer and warm October led to mature fruit with firm acidity. Despite substantial tannin, the wine is supple, balanced, and accessible, with a long, sapid finish. It's a blend of 80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11% Merlot, and 9% Petit Verdot.
🍴 This bold and structured red wine is an ideal partner for high-quality red meats. Think a perfectly grilled ribeye steak, slow-roasted venison, or a rich beef Wellington. It also pairs beautifully with hard and sharp cheeses, or even hearty Asian dishes.
🥂 This is a wine for a truly special occasion, perhaps a milestone anniversary or a significant birthday celebration, where its complexity and longevity can be fully appreciated. Given its age, expect some bottle variation. The cork and capsule might be fragile, so open with care. Decanting for 1-2 hours is recommended to allow the wine to fully express its mature aromas and flavors, but be mindful of sediment. Serve at 17-18°C (62-64°F).
