🏰From the iconic Jean-Yves Bizot, the 2019 Bourgogne Rouge is a 【highly sought-after expression of Pinot Noir, showcasing pure, floral notes, vibrant red fruits, and a distinctive mineral spice】. The 2019 Burgundy vintage was widely considered excellent, even legendary, despite some early spring frosts. Bizot is renowned for his minimal intervention approach and whole cluster inclusion, which contributes to the wine's youthful vibrancy, composure, elegance, and a long, chalky, pithy strawberry-fruited finish.
🍴 This versatile red Burgundy pairs wonderfully with everyday cooking, such as a midweek roast chicken or a mushroom tart. It also complements duck, goose, and various game birds beautifully.
🥂 An excellent choice for both casual enjoyment and more considered meals, this wine is perfect for Burgundy enthusiasts looking for a pure and expressive Pinot Noir. Its elegance makes it suitable for a wide range of social gatherings.
BACKGROUND
Domaine Jean Yves Bizot is a small Burgundy wine producer located in the Côte de Nuits, making Pinot Noir on several small plots of the Vosne-Romanée Premier Cru vineyard and the Grand Cru chézeaux vineyard. It also produces small amounts of Chardonnay at the village and Burgundy Blanc levels, and has plots in Massanai and Burgundy Chapit. The total area of the estate is just over three hectares. The current incarnation of the domaine was founded in 1995, when Jean Yves Bizot, a professor of oenology, inherited the domaine and vineyards from his family and followed a largely unconventional winemaking process.
