🏰 The 2013 Giovanni Rosso La Serra Barolo is a 【powerful and structured expression of Nebbiolo】 from the historic Serralunga d'Alba vineyards, where the Rosso family has farmed since the 1890s. This wine, fermented in cement tanks with ambient yeasts and aged for 36 months in large French oak casks, presents a concentrated and bright garnet-red color. The nose is vivid, powerful, and initially austere, revealing wild berries, coffee, licorice, violet, mint, and balsamic tones, alongside intense aromas of leather and dried strawberry. On the palate, expect black cherry, plum, dark fruit, coffee, licorice, and earthy, leathery overtones, with dense, clear tannins and a typically precise, long Serralunga finish. It combines grace and power, drinking well now with minimal cellaring, though a few hours of air are recommended if opened young. This vintage is expected to be at its best from 2020 through 2033.
🍴 A superb match for traditional Piedmontese dishes like Stracotto Piemontese, or rich lamb preparations.
🥂 Ideal for a traditional Italian dinner, a special occasion featuring robust meat dishes, or for any collector appreciating a classic, age-worthy Barolo.
