🏰 Domaine Guiberteau's 2018 Saumur Clos des Guichaux, a stunning expression from the esteemed Saumur region, is crafted from Chenin Blanc grapes grown in silt and sand soils over a limestone bed. This biodynamically farmed white wine showcases a light to medium body with lively acidity, offering prominent fruit intensity with luscious notes of ripe stone fruits, white flowers, apricot, honey, and a hint of citrus. It presents a delicately dry finish, making it an incredibly food-friendly option, and has an aging potential of 10 years or more.
🍴 This versatile Chenin Blanc pairs exceptionally well with poached fish, seafood, lemon butter scallops, and creamy goat cheese.
🥂 Perfect for a summer gathering, an elegant seafood dinner, or as a sophisticated aperitif. Its vibrant acidity and mineral finish also make it a great choice for a refreshing start to any meal.
Serving suggestion: Serve well-chilled, around 8-10°C (46-50°F). This wine is ready to drink now but can also benefit from a few more years of cellaring to develop further complexity.
