🏰【An extraordinary Grand Cru Burgundy, the 2021 Jean Louis Trapet Chambertin embodies elegance, complexity, and the authentic expression of a legendary biodynamically farmed terroir, making it a reference standard for the appellation.】 From a challenging yet ultimately rewarding vintage, this Pinot Noir displays a luminous ruby red hue and an enchantingly complex nose of red cherries, raspberries, violets, earthy notes, truffle, and fine spices. The palate is silky with precise fruit, elegant structure, fine-grained tannins, mineral depth, and an impressive, resonant finish, balancing immense power with youthful charm.
🍴 This aristocratic red Burgundy is sublime with partridge with truffle, pink roasted venison loin, Coq au Vin, or duck breast with cherry sauce. It also creates a magnificent pairing with aged Époisses cheese.
🥂 A highly collectible wine, ideal for a grand celebration, a significant milestone, or a dedicated tasting among serious Burgundy connoisseurs. This wine possesses enormous aging potential, promising graceful evolution over the next 20-30 years.
BACKGROUND
Domaine Trapet is a wine company comprised of two estates, one in Alsace, the other in Burgundy. The company in its current dual-region configuration formed when Andrée Trapet inherited her parents' vineyards in Alsace in 2002. Her husband Jean-Louis has run Domaine Trapet Père et Fils in Gevrey-Chambertin since 1990, when he took over from his father Jean.
