Hubert Lamy, Chassagne Montrachet Les Chaumees 1er Cru, 2022
🏰 The 2022 vintage in Burgundy for white wines is generally considered very good, offering both quality and quantity after a series of smaller harvests. While specific tasting notes for Hubert Lamy's Chassagne Montrachet Les Chaumees 1er Cru 2022 are still emerging due to its youth, the vintage is characterized by wines with wonderful bright fruit and citrus minerality, akin to the celebrated 2014 vintage but with greater 'tendresse'. Hubert Lamy is renowned for crafting Chassagne-Montrachet wines that express their terroir with precision and elegance. Expect a wine with a vibrant acidity and a complex aromatic profile that will evolve beautifully with age. 【Exceptional terroir expression】.
🍴 This elegant white Burgundy would be a superb match for pan-seared scallops with a lemon-butter sauce, roasted chicken with herbs, or a creamy mushroom risotto. For an Eastern pairing, consider steamed fish with ginger and spring onions, or delicate dim sum.
🥂 Perfect for a sophisticated dinner party, a celebratory meal, or as a thoughtful gift for a Burgundy enthusiast. Its youthful charm also makes it enjoyable now with proper aeration, but it promises rewarding complexity with cellaring.
BACKGROUND
Domaine Hubert Lamy is a wine estate based in Saint-Aubin, Burgundy, France, producing well-regarded wines from that appellation. The majority of the domaine vineyards are in Saint-Aubin, with around two-thirds of the holdings are given to Chardonnay and the remaining third, Pinot Noir. The domain was established in 1973, but the Lamy family history of vine growing in Saint-Aubin dates back to 1640. Since setting up, Hubert Lamy has passed management of the domaine onto his son Olivier Lamy and his wife Karine.
