As a 2023 vintage, this wine is still in its nascent stages, promising to evolve beautifully over time. While specific vintage reports for 2023 Puligny Montrachet are not yet widely available, the region consistently delivers high-quality white wines.
General tasting notes for Puligny Montrachet wines typically include aromas of white flowers, bright citrus, and a stony minerality, which gracefully evolve into more complex notes of honey and toasted nuts with age. These wines are celebrated for their precision and refined character. 【 A legendary Grand Cru known for its elegance and complexity 】.
🍴 This prestigious white Burgundy is a superb match for finely prepared delicate fish and crustaceans, such as pan-fried scallops, grilled lobster, or roasted sea bass. It also harmonizes beautifully with foie gras, poultry, and white meats, especially when roasted or served in a cream sauce. Consider pairing it with a fattened roasting chicken stuffed with morel mushrooms, or truffled dishes like risotto with truffles and truffled egg brouillade. Fresh or creamy cheeses, such as Chèvre frais, Brillat-Savarin, and Brie de Meaux, also make excellent companions.
🥂 This wine is perfectly suited for a prestigious dinner or a celebratory occasion where a top-tier white Burgundy is desired. It's an ideal choice for a gourmet meal featuring delicate yet rich dishes, offering a truly exceptional and luxurious dining experience.
BACKGROUND
Domaine Ramonet is a prominent wine producer in the Burgundy appellations of Chassagne-Montrachet and Puligny-Montrachet, France. Ramonet owns more than 15 hectares (37 acres) of vineyards. The primary grape variety is Chardonnay, with a small amount of Pinot Noir also planted. The estate's most important wines are made from Chardonnay from the area's grand cru vineyards, and are highly collectible, often selling for high prices at auction. Domaine Ramonet makes several red wines from Pinot Noir as well. Domaine Ramonet is now run by Noël and Jean-Claude Ramonet, following the death of their father Pierre in the mid-1990s.
