🏰 The 2022 Pierre Morey Meursault comes from a Burgundy vintage that is proving to be excellent, despite some challenging icy lows in April that required careful vineyard management. This village-level Meursault is already showing 【great depth and complexity for a young wine】, embodying the classic Meursault DNA with impressive acidity and elegance. While specific detailed reviews are still emerging, early indications suggest a wine with a stylish and refined bouquet, promising the body expected from Meursault. Expect notes of acacia blossom, hazelnut, spice, and essence of Granny Smith apple, along with intriguing hints of saline oysters and green apples. The palate is well-concentrated, rich, and crisp, with a classy, chiseled middle flavor and a juicy character. Its surprisingly firm, citrusy acidity suggests it will benefit from further aging.
🍴 This Meursault is a versatile partner for food, pairing beautifully with roasted chicken or turkey. Its richness and acidity also make it suitable for creamy pasta dishes, richer seafood like scallops or lobster, and mild, nutty cheeses.
🥂 An excellent choice for a refined weeknight dinner or a casual gathering with friends who appreciate quality white Burgundy. It's also a promising candidate for cellaring for a few years to allow its complexities to further unfold.
