🏰 The 2022 Bourgogne Aligoté from Pierre Morey was bottled just before harvest, revealing a delightful, slightly nutty, smoky bouquet that blossoms in the glass. The vintage itself was successful, replenishing cellars after several low-quantity years, with Chardonnay performing beautifully under ample sunshine, leading to wines with an abundance of color, flavor, and vibrancy. Despite challenges like frost, heat, and drought, timely rains ensured full and even ripening, resulting in wines of real depth and ripeness, showing enormous charm and vitality.
This Aligoté offers a well-balanced palate with fine weight and a texturally satisfying expression of the variety, finishing gently with tropical notes of guava and dried peaches. It is characterized by vibrant, predictably high acidity, crisp citrus, and an almost austere minerality, delivering tremendous levels of vibrancy and precision. Pierre Morey's Aligoté is particularly noted for its surprising salty minerality and high-voltage energy, dressed with complex and beautifully ripened fruit, thanks to biodynamic practices. 【Biodynamic Aligoté from old Meursault vines】
🍴 Its bright acidity and lean profile make it an excellent match for a wide array of dishes. Consider pairing it with fresh shellfish like raw oysters or shrimp scampi, grilled salmon, or even a charcuterie board with goat cheese and apricot jam. It also beautifully complements creamy cow's milk cheeses and vegetable-based soups, as its acidity acts as a palate cleanser for richer dishes.
🥂 This versatile wine is perfect for a casual brunch, a seafood feast with friends, or as a refreshing aperitif on a warm afternoon. Its vibrant character also makes it a great choice for a garden party or a summer picnic.
