FEATURES
🏰 The 2019 vintage for Burgundy reds was widely considered superb, producing complex, richly fruit-forward, and refined wines with excellent structure and strong terroir typicity. Monthelie, in particular, "outperformed" in this vintage, offering wines that represent great value. Des Comtes Lafon, a highly respected producer, crafted this Monthelie Les Duresses 1er Cru from Pinot Noir grapes. 【Serious pedigree from a top producer in an overperforming appellation in a superb vintage】. Tasting notes describe a lifted and fragrant bouquet of red cherry, raspberry, violet, and earth with gentle spice. The palate is silky, medium-bodied, with fine tannins, offering rich, varied aromas of berry fruit, structure, and roundness. Other descriptions include scents of peonies, wild berries, dark chocolate, and coniferous forest floor, with a lively, concentrated, deep, and velvety texture, balanced by lively acids. Notes of black cherry, violet, black pepper, and baking spices also emerge.
🥂 This wine has good aging potential and is built for the medium term, making it suitable for special dinners or cellaring to further develop its complexity.
🍴 It pairs beautifully with duck confit, roast pork loin with cherries, mushroom and lentil ragout, or aged Brie. It also complements poultry and game birds like quail or pigeon, as well as red meat dishes, roasts, and hard cheeses.
