🏰 The 2023 Louis Jadot Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru, from a blend of foudre and large cask, is a fascinating expression of this historic vineyard. While some early assessments describe it as needing more cohesion, it offers a medium-bodied palate with lightly spiced, svelte tannins and a silver bead of acidity. Expect perfumed, fruit-driven aromas of fresh raspberries, blood oranges, citrus peel, and cherry blossoms, alongside floral-suffused red berry notes with hints of leather and earth. The wine displays solid power and muscularity on a persistent, balanced, and youthfully austere finish.
🍴 這款布根地特級紅酒與烤鴨、鵝肉和野味禽鳥是經典搭配。其濃郁的果味和結構也能與紅燒肉類或豐盛的芝士盤完美結合。
🥂 This is a wine built for aging, with burly tannins and dark fruit and earth flavors that suggest a long life in the cellar, with an optimal drinking window over the next 15 years. It's a superb choice for collectors and those looking to celebrate future milestones with a wine of significant pedigree. 【Jadot is the second largest owner within this large and historic Grand Cru, with holdings becoming more elevated and important in recent years due to climate change resilience】.
BACKGROUND
Louis Jadot is a prominent Burgundy wine producer and négociant. Pinot Noir and Chardonnay are the primary grape varieties featured. The house was established in Beaune in 1859 by Louis Jadot. The company has seen several leadership changes: Gagey's son Pierre-Henry took over as president in 1991, Gagey died in 1999, and Lardière retired in 2012. Frédéric Barnier, who joined in 2010, is now the head winemaker, and Thibault Gagey has joined his father Pierre-Henry in leading the firm.
