🏰【A testament to Domaine Leroy's exceptional handle on delivering opulence balanced by consummate finesse, even in the challenging 1997 vintage.】 The 1997 Burgundy vintage, marked by an early start and warm spring, produced wines of surprising charm. This Vosne-Romanee reveals a medium-to-dark ruby color with aromatics of violets, roses, and red berries. It's silky-textured, medium-to-full-bodied, and intense, saturating the palate with candied red cherries, blueberries, and Asian spices, showcasing outstanding depth and a seamless structure. Expect complex layers of floral notes, earth, mineral, spice, and a seductive bouquet of dried flowers, mocha, and sweet leather.
🍴 Chinese Cantonese food pairing: This refined mature Burgundy is best enjoyed with roasted game, premium meats like slow-braised beef cheek, truffled preparations, or a selection of aged hard cheeses. For a Cantonese touch, consider braised abalone with mushroom or a rich double-boiled pigeon soup.
🥂 fit for event suggestion: Ideal for significant anniversaries, an intimate fine dining experience, or a contemplative evening for connoisseurs. This 1997 vintage is a mature wine, and while it offers a beautiful expression of aged Burgundy, be mindful of the cork and capsule condition upon opening. Expect complex tertiary aromas and a softer palate, a true opportunity to savor history.
