🏰 The 2013 Meo Camuzet Vosne-Romanée Aux Brûlées 1er Cru is a testament to meticulous winemaking in a challenging Burgundy vintage. This Premier Cru is described as a 【powerful and aristocratic wine with excellent aging potential】. The nose offers black fruit notes like blackcurrant and blueberry, intertwined with wood smoke and a hint of sweetness, all while maintaining an impression of freshness. On the palate, it's majestic, gradually unfolding with a sparkling, lively, fresh, and mineral character that is persistent without being overpowering. The wine encapsulates a delicate interplay between concentration and finesse, with vivid red fruit, earthy undertones, and a whisper of oak. Its taut acidity and sturdy tannins suggest it will benefit from further aging, with some experts recommending holding for another 5-10 years to reach its drinking plateau.
🍴 Food pairing suggestions: This refined red Burgundy is an exquisite match for duck, goose, and various game birds. It would also complement roasted poultry or delicate mushroom dishes.
🥂 Event suggestions: Perfect for a sophisticated dinner party, a special anniversary, or a serious tasting session with fellow Burgundy enthusiasts.
BACKGROUND
Domaine Meo-Camuzet is located in the village of Vosne-Romanee, France. The estate employs organic fertilizers and advanced cultivation techniques to maintain ecological balance in the vineyards. Coupled with the exceptional terroir and the legacy of Henri Jayer, Jean-Nicholas' efforts have elevated the estate to a top-tier winery in just a few decades. In 2003, Jean-Nicholas founded the négociant business Méo-Camuzet Frères et Soeurs. Although the grapes are purchased, the team personally supervises the vineyards to ensure the quality of the grape sources.
