【A testament to mastery in a challenging year, the 2004 Meo Camuzet Vosne Romanee Aux Brulees 1er Cru offers a unique expression of Burgundy with bright acidity and elegant structure.】 The 2004 vintage in Burgundy presented challenges, but Meo-Camuzet did particularly well, crafting a singular voice in the wines produced. This vintage is marked by its bright acidity and elegant structure, distinct from riper years. It's considered an impressive effort for the vintage, showing good vibrancy and precision. The bouquet is beginning to show matured notes, with red fruit in layers of ripe but also somewhat austere Pinot aromas, including raspberries, dark cherries, violets, and Asian spices. On the palate, there's good vibrancy and precision to the stony middleweight flavors, terminating in a linear and impressively persistent finale. It offers lithe red fruit, especially cherries and strawberries, dancing deftly with subtle notes of spice and earthiness. Graceful age has woven silky tannins with a delicate yet persistent flavor.

Vosne Romanee 1er Cru wines generally pair well with roasted poultry (like duck or guinea fowl), game birds, mushroom dishes, and delicate red meats such as veal or lamb. Given its elegance and spice, it would also complement dishes with subtle Asian spices.

BACKGROUND
Domaine Meo-Camuzet is located in the village of Vosne-Romanee, France. The estate employs organic fertilizers and advanced cultivation techniques to maintain ecological balance in the vineyards. Coupled with the exceptional terroir and the legacy of Henri Jayer, Jean-Nicholas' efforts have elevated the estate to a top-tier winery in just a few decades. In 2003, Jean-Nicholas founded the négociant business Méo-Camuzet Frères et Soeurs. Although the grapes are purchased, the team personally supervises the vineyards to ensure the quality of the grape sources.
