🏰 【A serious Bonnes-Mares for long-term consideration, Denis Mortet's 2023 Grand Cru is a nascent beauty, already bursting with complex aromas and promising immense cellar potential.】 This young vintage, from old vines, presents a clean and precise bouquet of blackberry, graphite, violet, and crushed stone scents. It's described as a rich, masculine wine, offering flavors of sweet red berries, incense, violets, and anise, with excellent freshness and a slightly chalky feel. The palate is medium-bodied with fine-boned, supple tannins, fleshy and sapid, boasting an insistent grip and a lingering touch of black pepper on the aftertaste. This wine is built to reveal its full potential after resting a long time in the cellar.
🍴 This powerful yet elegant Pinot Noir will be an exceptional pairing for roasted game birds like pheasant or partridge, truffle-infused dishes, or a rich beef bourguignon. For an Asian pairing, consider slow-cooked pork belly or a delicate mushroom hotpot.
🥂 Ideal for a significant investment in a fine wine cellar, a future milestone celebration, or a patient connoisseur looking to experience the profound evolution of a top Burgundy Grand Cru.
BACKGROUND
Domaine Denis Mortet is located in northern Burgundy and is famous for producing high-quality Pinot Noir wine. It is produced in a modern style and has a delicate taste. The domaine currently occupies 11.2 hectares (27 acres) and has also purchased part of the Le Chambertin Grand Cru vineyard. The winery was founded in 1956 when Charles Mortet purchased a hectare of vineyard and began selling fruit to merchants. Mortet's son Denis and his wife Laurence started working at the estate in 1978 and took over and established Domaine Denis Mortet in the early 1990s.
