Clos Des Fees, Cotes Du Roussillon Villages Vieilles Vignes, 2016
🏰 **From the legendary Hervé Bizeul, the 2016 Domaine du Clos des Fées Côtes du Roussillon Villages Vieilles Vignes is a profound expression of Roussillon's ancient terroir, crafted from minuscule parcels of 70-100 year-old Carignan and Grenache bush vines.** This richly concentrated red wine, a blend with Syrah and Mourvèdre, hails from a warm and sunny 2016 vintage, offering 【bright dark fruit aromas of blackcurrant and black cherry, elegantly lifted by savory, meaty, and garrigue herb notes with a hint of vanilla from oak】. The palate is mouth-filling and vibrant, showcasing 【fondant tannins, excellent freshness, and a long, energetic finish that intertwines dark fruit with saline, floral, menthol, and peppery nuances】.
🍴 This powerful and complex wine is an ideal companion for slow-braised stews, grilled meats, rare duck breast, well-hung côte de boeuf with confit shallots, venison stew, or slow-braised wild boar. It also pairs beautifully with lamb, mushrooms, and rich pasta dishes.
🥂 Perfect for a gourmet dinner, a special gathering, or as a centerpiece for a tasting of Rhône-style blends. Decant in its youth to allow its full complexity to unfold, and serve at around 16°C (60°F). This wine has excellent aging potential, capable of developing beautifully for up to 15 years from vintage.
