Joseph Drouhin, Montrachet Marquis De Laguiche Grand Cru, 2009
🏰 【An authentic masterpiece, regarded as the yardstick for all other Burgundies】, the 2009 Joseph Drouhin Montrachet Marquis de Laguiche Grand Cru is a truly exceptional white wine. The 2009 vintage was aromatic and expressive, showing a certain mildness, holding the promise of great Burgundy vintages ending in 9. It explodes from the glass with intense layers of tropical fruit, passion fruit, butter, spices, and vanillin. Expect a symphony of aromas including lily of the valley, peach blossom, exotic fruit, honey, grilled almonds, and even exotic woods. The palate offers a harmonious roundness, tremendous elegance, and an exceptionally long, fine finish. This is an opulent yet focused vintage, showcasing towering elegance, richness, and force.
🍴 This majestic white Burgundy pairs exquisitely with delicate pan-seared scallops, steamed lobster with butter sauce, or roasted turbot. For a richer experience, try it with foie gras or a creamy chicken dish. It also complements aged Comté or Brillat-Savarin cheese beautifully.
🥂 Perfect for a landmark anniversary, a significant celebration, or a luxurious dinner where only the best will do. This wine is a statement piece, ideal for impressing discerning connoisseurs.
BACKGROUND
Joseph Drouhin is one of Burgundy's most important wine producers, France. The primary grape variety is Pinot Noir, with a small portion being Chardonnay. Founded in Beaune in 1880, the domaine has expanded throughout the 20th Century to include vineyards in Chablis, the Côte de Nuits, the Côte de Beaune and the Côte Chalonnaise, making everything from simple, village-level cuvées to highly priced grand cru and premier cru wines from Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.
