France Burgundy Romanee Conti
FEATURES
🏰 The 1969 vintage was generally excellent in Burgundy, and while many wines have begun to tire, the DRC '69s have stayed the course reasonably well. Domaine de la Romanée-Conti is arguably the greatest and most famous estate in Burgundy, producing wines in small quantities with huge demand. The 1969 Romanée-Conti Grand Cru, though perhaps not a standout for the vintage or for Romanée-Conti itself, still offers obvious quality. It presents a completely bricked appearance, with a soaring nose of sous bois, caramel, brown sugar, a lovely range of spice nuances, and animale undertones. The palate reveals sweet, round, and detailed middle-weight flavors with perhaps a bit more minerality than usual, culminating in a focused and equally sweet finish. 【The wine of Prince de Conti, velvet, seduction, and mystery from Burgundy's most famous estate】. 🍴 This savory and classic Pinot Noir pairs beautifully with duck, goose, and game birds. Its complex tertiary notes would also complement truffle dishes, roasted poultry, or delicate mushroom preparations. 🥂 This is a truly historic bottle, perfect for a once-in-a-lifetime celebration or a profound tasting experience among connoisseurs. Given its age, this wine is likely to be fragile. Expect a delicate, evolved style rather than youthful vibrancy. The cork may be brittle, so use a Durand or Ah-So opener. Decanting is recommended for 1-2 hours to allow the wine to breathe and any sediment to settle, but be mindful of its age and avoid over-aeration. Serve at cellar temperature, around 16-18°C (60-64°F). Handle with extreme care.
