🏰 The 2022 Meo Camuzet Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru is a 【majestic, structured, and deep expression of one of Burgundy's most iconic crus】, blending noble austerity with modern finesse. This vintage is highly anticipated, with critics like Jasper Morris giving it 94-96 points and Decanter 96 points. The 2022 Burgundy vintage is characterized by early grape ripening, leading to pure aromatic expression and beautiful natural concentration. Expect a bouquet of great finesse with intense red fruit aromas, subtle spicy notes, black cherry, raspberry, and violet. On the palate, it offers a refined, almost lace-like texture with supple yet firm tannins, abundant fresh acidity, and a remarkable length.
🍴 This powerful Grand Cru pairs perfectly with rich and savory dishes. Consider roasted duck, goose, game birds, fine red meats like beef tenderloin, or aged cheeses. For an Asian-inspired pairing, it would beautifully complement Cantonese roasted squab or a rich Peking duck.
🥂 An excellent choice for a significant celebration, a serious wine tasting, or as a cornerstone for a developing cellar. This wine is remarkable for being accessible in its youth while possessing surprising cellaring potential, drinkable until around 2040. Serve at 16-18°C (60-64°F).
BACKGROUND
Domaine Meo-Camuzet is located in the village of Vosne-Romanee, France. The estate employs organic fertilizers and advanced cultivation techniques to maintain ecological balance in the vineyards. Coupled with the exceptional terroir and the legacy of Henri Jayer, Jean-Nicholas' efforts have elevated the estate to a top-tier winery in just a few decades. In 2003, Jean-Nicholas founded the négociant business Méo-Camuzet Frères et Soeurs. Although the grapes are purchased, the team personally supervises the vineyards to ensure the quality of the grape sources.
