🏰【Consistently ranked among Bordeaux's elite dry white wine producers, this 2006 offers a captivating evolution of tropical fruit and creamy undertones.】 The 2006 Chateau Smith Haut Lafitte Blanc is a gorgeous white Graves, showcasing notes of honeysuckle, lanolin, sweet citrus, orange peel, quince, and white currants. James Suckling praised its gorgeous guava and mango character with hints of pineapple and a creamy undertone, noting its layers of fruit that continuously change on the palate. This medium to full-bodied wine boasts fresh acidity, subtle smoky oak nuances, and a long finish, with a phenolic texture reminiscent of a soft red wine, yet uniquely Bordeaux. While some suggest it might have been better consumed a couple of years ago, it still offers a beautiful long finish with some acidity.
🍴 This white Bordeaux blend, characterized by its green and flinty style, is an excellent match for meaty and oily fish. Consider pairing it with pan-seared scallops, grilled sea bass, or even a rich chicken in cream sauce.
🥂 Ideal for a sophisticated seafood dinner or a special occasion where a mature, complex white wine will be appreciated.
