🏰 The 2020 vintage in 布根地 (Burgundy) was largely considered excellent, a precocious year marked by a mild winter, warm spring, and a hot, dry summer, yet it yielded remarkably fresh, pure, elegant, and focused wines. Despite being one of the hottest vintages of the 21st century, the wines do not taste overripe; instead, they boast a breathtaking brightness and energy from high-quality acidity, perfectly counterbalancing their richness and intensity. Pinot Noir from this vintage, particularly in the Côte de Nuits, shows high quality with small berries and good concentration, promising long aging potential. 【An exceptional vintage, offering remarkable freshness and concentration.】
🍴 This Grand Cru 布根地 Pinot Noir, with its complex structure and vibrant acidity, is a superb partner for refined cuisine. It pairs beautifully with roasted game birds, pan-seared duck breast, delicate beef preparations like beef carpaccio or a tenderloin, and mushroom-based dishes. Consider also pairing it with fine, aged Gruyère or Comté cheese.
🥂 The 2020 Laurent Ponsot Latricières Chambertin Cuvée du Palmier Grand Cru is a youthful wine with remarkable vitality that can be enjoyed now, but it also possesses significant long aging potential. While approachable in its youth, a decant of 1-2 hours would allow its complex aromas and flavors to fully express themselves. Serve at 16-18°C (60-64°F) to appreciate its elegance and depth. This wine is ideal for a celebratory event, a serious tasting, or as a prized addition to a long-term cellar.
BACKGROUND
Domaine Laurent Ponsot is Laurent Ponsot who resigned from Domaine Ponsot in early 2017 and established his own business in Burgundy with his son. For his new venture, he continues to source fruit from his sharecropping arrangement with the Mercier family, which includes plots of Griotte, Chambertin and Chambolle 1er Cru “Les Charmes,” vines grown by Ponsot since 1982.
