Jean Claude Bachelet, Chassagne Montrachet Blanchot Dessus 1er Cru, 2022
🏰 【A vibrant and promising Premier Cru from Chassagne-Montrachet】, the 2022 Jean Claude Bachelet Chassagne Montrachet Blanchot Dessus 1er Cru is expected to showcase the classic elegance and complexity of this esteemed Burgundy appellation. While specific tasting notes for the 2022 vintage are still emerging, Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru wines are renowned for their rich, full-bodied character, often displaying notes of white flowers, citrus, hazelnut, and a distinct minerality. The Blanchot Dessus vineyard typically yields wines with excellent structure and aging potential, reflecting the unique terroir.
🍴 This white Burgundy is an exquisite pairing for rich seafood dishes such as grilled lobster, pan-seared scallops, or creamy fish preparations. It also complements roasted chicken, veal in cream sauce, and a variety of soft, nutty cheeses like Comté or Gruyère.
🥂 Perfect for a celebratory meal, a sophisticated tasting, or as a valuable addition to a fine wine collection, this Premier Cru is designed for both immediate enjoyment and graceful aging. Serve chilled at 10-12°C.
BACKGROUND
Domaine Jean-Claude Bachelet et Fils is a well-regarded wine producer based in the town of Saint-Aubin in the Côte de Beaune region of Burgundy, France. It produces a range of wines, predominantly Chardonnay, from fruit in Saint-Aubin and neighboring Puligny and Chassagne-Montrachet, including a plot in the Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru site. The eponymous Jean-Claude Bachelet established the domaine name in the 1970s although the family has winemaking history dating back to the 17th Century. Jean-Claude's sons Jean-Baptiste and Benoit progressively took over the running of the domaine in the early 2000s and the cellars were rennovated in 2010.
