🏰【Rated highly by critics, the 2009 Chateau Monbousquet is an exuberant, flamboyant, and irresistible Saint-Emilion, showcasing plump, succulent fruit and a modern style.】 The 2009 vintage in Bordeaux was excellent, with low yields and a classic blend of Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Cabernet Sauvignon. Chateau Monbousquet was elevated to Grand Cru Classe in 2006. The wine is known for power and finesse.
Tasting Note: Deep garnet colored. Aromas of blackberries and meat with hints of spices. Copious notes of toasty oak, vanillin, jammy black and red fruits intermixed with notions of wood fire barbecue, roasted espresso and chocolate. Full-bodied, with round and juicy tannins. Rich, with dark fruit flavors complicated by salty minerality. Ready to drink, medium-bodied, earthy, smoky, with soft, espresso and cherry driven character. After decanting, fresh and lively blackberry, boysenberry, and blueberry, with milk and dark chocolate, and a sweeter earthiness.
🍴 All types of classic meat dishes, veal, pork, beef, lamb, duck, game, roast chicken, roasted, braised, and grilled dishes. Also good with Asian dishes, hearty fish courses like tuna, mushrooms, and pasta. Beef and venison. Homemade French Fries and cheeseburgers.
🥂 Ideal for a celebratory dinner or a gathering with friends. It's drinking well now at 15 years of age. Best served at 15.5°C (60°F). Young vintages can be decanted for 1-2 hours or more; older vintages might need very little decanting, just enough to remove sediment. This wine is much better with at least 6-9 years of aging and should reach peak maturity between 8-20 years after the vintage.
