Jean Jacques Confuron, Romanee Saint Vivant Grand Cru, 2017
🏰The 2017 Jean-Jacques Confuron Romanée-Saint-Vivant Grand Cru comes from a very successful Burgundy vintage, noted for its precision and freshness. This Grand Cru, from a producer known for their 'Bio' approach and meticulous winemaking, offers an exquisite expression of one of Burgundy's most revered vineyards. Expect a wine with a brilliant ruby color and an aromatic profile of 【vibrant red cherries, wild strawberries, and delicate rose petals】, complemented by subtle notes of 【anise, forest floor, and a hint of spice】. On the palate, it is elegant and refined, with silky tannins, harmonious acidity, and a long, complex finish that truly captures the essence of Romanée-Saint-Vivant.
🍴 This prestigious red Burgundy is an ideal match for sophisticated dishes such as roasted squab, pan-seared duck breast with berry reduction, or a truffle-infused risotto. For an Asian pairing, consider a delicate Cantonese roast pigeon or a refined braised abalone with mushrooms.
🥂 Perfect for a significant celebration, a high-end wine dinner, or as a cherished addition to a serious collector's cellar.
BACKGROUND
Domaine Jean Jacques Confuron is a wine producer located in Premeaux, near Nuits-Saint-Georges in the Côte de Nuits, Burgund, France. The viticultural portfolio is now approximately 95-percent Pinot Noir with small plantings of Chardonnay and Aligoté. The domaine has 8 hectares (19 acres) of vines across 14 appellations, including plots in the prestigious grand cru vineyards Clos de Vougeot and Romanée-Saint-Vivant. The domaine began with the marriage of Jean Confuron and Anne Marie Bouchard in 1926, bringing together the vineyards of two different families. These vineyards have been passed through the family since, and the domaine has expanded as well, picking up plots in the prestigious grand cru sites.
