Comte Georges De Vogue, Bonnes Mares Grand Cru, 2009
🏰The 2009 Bonnes Mares Grand Cru from Domaine Comte Georges de Vogüé is a 【distinguished Pinot Noir from one of Burgundy's most celebrated grand cru vineyards】, combining the power of Bonnes-Mares with the elegance and refinement that define the Vogüé style. Sourced from Vogüé's holdings on the Chambolle side of Bonnes-Mares, known for iron-rich clay ("terre rouge") soils, it typically results in a more overt, fruit-forward style. The 2009 vintage in Burgundy was warm, producing healthy, ripe grapes with rich, luscious fruit and good structure. Antonio Galloni rated it 93-95 points, highlighting its sensual, inviting personality and tremendous purity. It offers up blackberries, dark cherries, wild berry fruit, and spices, with gorgeous aromatic delineation and freshness. Expect notes of pepper, spice, and earthy complexity. The palate is medium to full-bodied, refined, and silky, supported by vibrant energy, sweet tannins, energetic acidity, and persistent length. It's described as very focused with red and dark fruits – coulis and creme de fruit.
🍴 Excellent with duck breast with dried fruit reduction, herb-crusted lamb chops, Oeufs en meurette, and aged Comté cheese.
🥂 Ideal for collectors of mature Grand Cru 布根地, lovers of Pinot Noir with both power and elegance, or a special occasion where a truly fine and evolving red 布根地 is desired. Anticipated maturity is 2019-2039.
BACKGROUND
Domaine Comte Georges de Vogüé is the most significant landowner in Chambolle-Musigny. Their Bonnes-Mares Grand Cru is known for its power, depth, and structure, contrasting with the ethereal nature of Musigny. It offers intense dark fruit, earthy complexity, and requires significant aging to soften its robust tannins.
