【A testament to resilience and supremacy, the 2016 Emmanuel Rouget Vosne Romanee Cros Parantoux 1er Cru is a rare and highly prized Burgundy, emerging as a silver lining from a challenging vintage with astonishing balance and deep complexity.】 The 2016 growing season in Burgundy was one of stark contrasts, with frightful frost followed by a summer that dovetailed into ideal ripening conditions. The Cros Parantoux vineyard, only slightly touched by frost, yielded grapes that bestowed wine with deep complexity and astonishing balance. Matured in 100% new oak, it offers a very pure bouquet of blackberry, raspberry preserve, cold stone, and hints of violet, often compared to a Richebourg. The palate is beautifully balanced with luscious red fruit, a fine line of acidity, blood orange, and hints of licorice, leading to a sustained, pixelated finish. Expect an aromatic bouquet bristling with dark berries, Asian spice, and earthy undertones, with sumptuous layers of fruit interwoven with structured, yet supple tannins.

This exceptional Burgundy pairs exquisitely with refined gastronomy, particularly roasted meats, aged cheeses, or earthy truffle accents. Consider classic pairings like roasted Bresse chicken with black truffles, Wagyu beef sliders with caramelized onions and aged Gruyere, or wild mushroom risotto. It's also a superb match for duck, goose, and other game birds.

An illustrious choice for collectors and connoisseurs, its limited availability and profound character make it perfect for a truly special occasion, a significant celebration, or as a prized addition to a fine wine portfolio.
Serving: To fully appreciate this cuvee, serve at 16°C (61°F) in a wide Burgundy balloon glass. While some find it grumpy and angular when young, it has excellent cellaring potential, with some suggesting waiting until at least 2030 to enjoy its full complexity.
