Boasso, Barolo Gabutti, 1988
Red
750ml
Label : Good Label
Level : Very Top Shoulder Level Filled
🏰 The 1988 Boasso Barolo Gabutti hails from an 【excellent and majestic Piedmont vintage】, marking the beginning of a legendary trilogy for Nebbiolo. This vintage produced elegant, long-lived Barolos with remarkable fragrance and balance, despite some challenges from October rains. Boasso's Barolo Gabutti, from the prestigious Serralunga d'Alba, is known for its intensity, depth, and aging capacity, thanks to its calcareous marl and clay soils. Expect a deep garnet red with orange reflections, offering a complex bouquet of ripe red fruits, dried flowers, spices, and a light mineral trace, enriched by nuances of tobacco, leather, and chocolate from its extensive aging. The palate reveals an extraordinary structure with powerful yet refined tannins and lively acidity, leading to a long, persistent finish with aromatic complexity.
🍴 This mature Barolo is ideal for accompanying rich and intense dishes such as roasted red meats, truffle-based dishes, game, and mature, aged cheeses.
🥂 This is a meditation wine, perfect for a significant anniversary or a gathering of serious wine connoisseurs. Given its age, the cork and capsule may be fragile. Decanting for 2-3 hours is highly recommended to allow the wine to fully open up and to separate any sediment. Serve at a temperature of 18-20°C (64-68°F).
